Just like a meal where unique and opposing flavours mix together harmoniously, so too do coffee blends become more than the sum of their parts. A blend melds together Single Origins from around the globe, balancing sweetness, body and brightness to create a ‘complete’ cup that satisfies all the senses.
The blends below each present a unique cup, allowing you to experiment and choose the combination of flavours and characteristics you feel is right for various occasions or preferences — some work excellently as black coffees, others shine through when combined with milk and then there are those which create a flavour sensation no matter how they’re brewed.
So relax, take your time and have a look at our tasting notes for a detailed description of each of the blends. 24/7 Roast
This one’s a must! Our flagship brand in a stable of premium blends, this is the standout coffee of its generation. Made with the finest beans from a small collective of individual growers in Papua New Guinea, this is an exceptionally high grade coffee. And it’s a world exclusive to 5 Senses. Because the beans are not grown on a single plantation, we consider this a blend. It’s just blended at home in PNG, not here in Australia. These beans are grown by small groups of farmers who are passionate about their crop … just as passionate about great coffee as we are!

AM Blend
One of our only dark roast blends, the AM is a rich, dark wake up call. Made with a glorious mix of beans from the mountainous villages of PNG and the mountains of Costa Rica, blended with beans from the Andes in Columbia and the Indian Tiger Mountains, this is a truly international coffee. A feisty coffee indeed, this is not one to miss!

PM Blend
A smooth mellow blend, this is a wonderful all-day coffee. Marrying the tangy citrus flavours of beans from the Tarrazu mountains in Costa Rica with the fruit flavours of coffee from the Andes in Colombia, and you get a coffee that is a wonderful rich, smooth experience. Throw the ‘droolingly good’ PNG beans, with their comforting aromas of caramelized roast vegetables into the mix, and you have a coffee for any time of day or night.

Intense Roast
Memorably described as ‘like a party in your mouth’ by our cheerful bunch of tasters, this one really delivers on flavour and complexity in a cup. It’s a true balance of fruity sweetness, with some interesting savoury notes all wrapped up in a nice body (you know what we mean!) The intriguing aromas entice you into taking just one sip, and that’s all it takes. Before you know it, you’re hooked! A wonderful mix of beans from Guatemala, Ethiopia and Indonesia, this coffee really has got what it takes.

Organic Fresh
This one’s a real blend-of-choice for those who love both nature and coffee! And what’s not to love? Our Organic blend comprises two chemical-free organic origins – the Mexican ‘El Olivio’ and the Peruvian ‘Villa Rica’. These two solid single origins balance perfectly in the cup and offer gentle, but complex flavours which hark back to their natural origins. This is definitely one to try if you like a change from the norm.

Brazil Blue Blend
A long standing and hugely popular blend that has truly stood the test of time. Designed for busy cafés, it performs superbly through ristretto or longer espresso shots. Customers love it — with good reason. We have added a large amount of an extremely clean Brazilian Yellow Bourbon to up the body and create full mouthfeel. This cleanness allows the subtle flavours of the PNG and the Indian to shine through, resulting in a truly balanced cup. Try it and see what we mean.

Decaf
This delicious decaf greets you with a bready aroma mixed with subtle hints of chocolate orange. It has a light, tangy citrus acidity and effervescent taste. A low body, but good velvety texture adds to the flavour. With nippy flavours of dried onions and orange peel, its winey, bittersweet taste is no surprise. The rounded, smooth finish stays with you. A decaf to enjoy.

Decaf Fairtrade Organic
The Fairtrade Organic Decaf greets you with a dry, earthy aroma reminiscent of dusty root vegetables. A long-lasting, lemony acidity means it’s bright up front. It has a medium body and an oily texture. A smooth, light, grapefruit sweetness and earthy flavours of potato and starch mingle with a tangy lemon zest up front. It has a lingering, but clean, aftertaste.

Harmony Fairtrade Organic

Johnny Cash Blend
One of the all-time favourite blends for the crowd here at 5 Senses, this coffee is a real crowd pleaser. Just like its namesake in fact! Created as a signature blend for Velvet Espresso barista Johnny Nease to use in barista competitions, it was named the ‘Johnny Cash blend.’ And the name stuck – especially as Johnny used Johnny Cash as a sound track in his competitions.
